Next Steps...

Having explored stigma in sport through both participant-led photovoice and my own autoethnographic painting and cyanotype practice, I now aim to build on these foundations by expanding the reach and impact of the work. I plan to continue raising awareness through new exhibitions that integrate painting, cyanotype, and photographic narratives, creating layered dialogues between athlete voices and artistic interpretation.

Moving forward, I want to engage more athletes nationally through my lacrosse networks and strengthen collaborations with sport science researchers at LJMU and other researchers to ensure both creative and scientific perspectives are represented. I also intend to experiment further with cyanotype as a participatory tool, inviting teammates and other athletes to contribute images that can be incorporated into collaged installations alongside more detailed paintings such as the tampon or helmet works.

In this way, I hope to continue spreading awareness of menstruation-related injuries and stigma, while also developing inclusive spaces where art can empower athletes to reclaim and share their own narratives.
