As an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and Senior Lecturer in Media, Culture and communication, Bee Hughes investigates embodied experiences of gender. Their recent research delves into themes such as menstruation, everyday rituals, and routines, as well as the feminist tradition of self-examination.

Their recent works in poetry and sound art explore repetition and menstrual normativity encountered through online medical advice.

I have been deeply fascinated by Hughes' work and her ability to integrate the menstrual cycle into the context of dinner. This was a concept I initially struggled with, but seeing her work has inspired me to explore ways to express the menstrual cycle in sports. I find some of her pieces quite simple yet highly effective, especially in engaging the audience and encouraging conversations about the menstrual cycle, a topic that is often overlooked but relevant to everyone.
